cups milk cup melted shortening cups sliced pie apples (1-pound 4-ounee can) cups sifted rising flour U teaspoon nutmeg K cup sugar I eggs, separated Sift together flour, nutmeg and sugar. Beat egg yolks and add milk. Stir, into flour mixture. Add melted shortening. Mix slightly. Add pie apples and mix well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in hot waffle baker. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream and a dash of nutmeg. Makes 9 servings.
