FHA Convention
Three FHA’ers from the Rappahannock Chapter returned to the county Thursday the 22nd of June after attending the sixteenth anual convention of the Virginia Association, . Future Homemakers of America. The convention was held at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Va. pn June 19-22, 1961.
Site Many, president of the local chayter, Bonnie Brown, president of the Daughters of the Star Federation and Mary Frances Pullen, a State Homemaker Degree winner 4nd member of the State nominating committee, accompanied by their adviser, Mrs. Glenna Bennett attended the four day affair.
The first general session was called to order by Janice Robin-\ son. The theme of the convention was “Understanding_The Key to Happy Family Living. After the 500 representatives of chapters all over the State, were welcomed, Kay Munbert, State Secretary, spokp on “Why Are We Here?”. Carol Cash, State president asked members, “Are You a Future Horrtemaker Who Understands Others?” Officer candidates were presented to the convention.
Preserving and Enriching Family Living was the topic of the second general session of the meeting. Mrs. Nell Griffin, head of the Home Economics Department at Ljongwood College, Farmville, spoke on How Well Do You Understand Your Family Members? Continued on page twelve
