Come One! Come All I

To a barbecue Saturday, July 1 at the home of Mrs. Lewis Butler sponsored by the Sperryville Tigeresses. The time for the barbecue has been changed from 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. (EST). Please come out and help make this event a great success.

The Tigers had a perfect week end with the addition of two more games to their credit. Saturday on their diamond at Horse Shoe Inn •they ran over the Front Royal Bombers with a score of 16-4. On Sunday they walked over the Washington Monarchs with a 10-3 score.

The Tigers showed a great amount of batting power. There were no home runs made Saturday but they got their share of extra bases. Moody Aylor picked up 2 triples; Aylette Frye one triple; Willie Carter, one triple and Richard Slaughter a double. In Sunday’s game against the Monarchs, the Tigers picked up 3 home runs which gave them a total of 13 for the season. The two games over the weekend give the Tigers a record of 13 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. s

Sunday, July 2nd the Tiger; will meet the rough Cismont Braves. The Braves have lost only 1 game out of 10. You can expect most anything to happen when the Tigers and Braves meet. The Tigers will have their next home game when they meet Spottsylvama: on July 4th.
