In large flocks, separate ewes with twin lambs from those with singles for better feeding. 3. j Mark twin ewe lambs for possible replacements. 4. Dock'and castrate lambs before two weeks of age. Spray for Lice Control. Lice cost you money and most of your projects should be sprayed as soon as possible. 2. Spray on a fairly warm dry day. 3. Do not spray when weather is cold enough to freeze the spray on the animal. 4. Use a sprayer that will give 60 pounds pressure and wet animal so that the hide is reached. 5. For a few animals the following materials are recommended for a fivegallon spray mixture in five gallons of water. (A) Malathion, 6 oz. 57 per cent emulsifiable liquid or 13 oz. 25 per cent wettable powder. (B) Co-Ral, 13 oz. 25 per cent wettable powder. 6. Always follow label instructions on handling insecticides. 7. Mange on beef cattle is not a serious problem ; however, any occurrance should be reported to the county agent’s office here in Washington. This office will in turn report it to the State Veterinarian. 8. Cattle grub cysts may be starting to qmerge: three treatments, spray or dust, with rotenone, at 30 day intervals are recommended.
