Streams Stocked For
Trout Season Opening
April 7th
A total of 432,545 trout will be liberated in streams scattered across 89 Virginia counties prior to Noon, April 7, when the 1962 trout season will open, according to Game Commission Fish Division Chief Bob Martin. Of these fish, 44,500 to be released on the Jefferson National Forest and 50,400 to be released on the George Washington National Forest will be supplied by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Additional stocking will be made during a five-diy closure in May. Those streams which are scheduled to be stocked by opening day are as follows:
Rappahannock County: Piney Branch, Rush River, Thornton River, North Fork.
Warren County'. Gooney Run.
Page County’. Hawskbill Creek, Cub Run, Pitt Spring Run.
Shetland oah County. Passage Creek -(Lower), Big Stony Creek, Cedar Creek, Laurel Run, Little ; Stony (Above), Little Stony (Below), Mountain Run, Passage Creek (Little), Passage Creek (Upper), Peters Mill Run.
