Guidance Program
During the week of March 19th, approximately 2,130 high school students in Warren, Rappahannock and Clarke Counties particiated in the Health Careers programs sponsored by the local tuberculosis association and given by Mrs. Cynthia Warren, Assistant Director of the Virginia Council on Health and Medical Care.
Slides were shown covering 18 careers including dentistry, dietetics, medical record librarians, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, x-ray technology, health educator, veterinarian and podiatry. ' Additional information on the individual careers is available from the guidance counselors in. each school, the tuberculosis association and the Virginia Council on Health and Medical Care at 100 East Franklin Street, Richmond 19, Virginia. Participating schools were: Clarke County High and JohnsonWiUiams High of Clarke County, Randolph Macon Academy, John S. Mosby Academy, Warren County High and Criser iHigh Schools in Warren County and the Rappahannock High School. The program is designed as an educational presentation to acquaint students with the various careers available, the amount of schooling required for graduation or practice and the type of specific responsibility in each career.
