Tree Planting Season
Nears End e
Many landowners who have planned to reforest idle land fail to realize \that the tree planting season ends the middle of April. District Forester, D. G. Wilfong, j Jr., stated that each year countless j persons wait too long to place their orders for tree seedlings.
Wilfong reminded the public that the time of year for planting usually is from December through March. This year as in the past two years, the heavy snows have delayed the deliveries and planting. The Disrict Forester requests interested landowners to place orders for tree seedlings within the next few weeks to meet the plantig deadline. Species of nearly all trees raised by the Virginia Division of Forestry remain available to fill orders.

Tuesday, April 3 at 2 pm the Missionary Society of Washington Baptist Church will hold its April meeting in the churdi. Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett, leader, has a very interesting as well as informative program planned. The topic is “More Missionaries Are Needed."
