There will be a fried chicken and roast beef dinner at the Chester Gap fire hall on Saturday, May 12 beginnirtg at 5 o’clock. This is sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary for the benefit of the Fire Department.
Oak Forest Garden
Opens Successfully
There was much enthusiastic response to the opening of Oak Forest Gardens in Woodville when Mrs. W. R. Williamson officially began her business of flower plant sales and herb gari dens the first of May. Many old i friends and some new ones dropped in for tea, a visit and purchase'.
The brick outside kitchen con1 tained samples of herb plants, i books on herbs and information i on growing and harvesting hei bs.
Mrs. Williamson reports that ! she is putting out more plants and I has*a great variety for planting now.
Assisting with tea at Oak Forest were Miss Annie Stephenson. Mrs. Dabney Carr. Mrs. C. K. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Bradley Patterson, and Mrs. T. J. Pillar.
