Club Sponsors Art

Show June 9th

The Venture Club sponsored by the Soroptimist Club of Warrerxton will be sponsoring the First Annual Art Show of Warrenton on Saturday, June 9, 1962 on the lawn of the Warren Green Hotel Buildin'g on Culpeper Street, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Works eligible will be orignal oil and watercolor paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculpture. Exhibitors are limited to two entries in each of two classes. Exhibitors under sixteen years may enter the Junior Class; one original only will be accepted. All entries are due by May 15th, in order to be listed in catalogue. Exhibitors are assessed $1.00 per entry for costs of handling. The club will not be responsible for loss or damage, however there will be insurance covergae. In case of rain date of exhibit will be changed to Saturday, June 16th.

Like most chartered clubs the Venture Club is a “service” club. The club ventures into many fund raising projects to provide funds for services. Some of the past services are providing tray favors at a local nursing home, goods and gifts to indigent families on special occasions, annual scholarship award, donations to charity groups, teen dances, etc.
