A funeral service was held Friday, May 18 from the Amissville Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Hitt was a member. Her pastor, the Rev. Ralph Stalter, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Fletcher Osborne, a former pastor, and the Rev. John B. Hodge of Amissville Baptist Church. Interment was in the Hitt family cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Burroughs, Charles Holmes, Wesley Woodward, Robert Beach, James Heflin and Lewis Judd. Arrangements were made by Geest Funeral Parlors.
