John H. Watson
John Holden Watson, of Casdeton, died Monday, May 14, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. He had been a patient there for a week. Mr. Watson was 79.
He was a son of the late George Watson and Martha Lee Watson, and a native of Charles Town, W. Va. where he had resided most of his life. Mr. Watson had made his home in Rappahannock since 1940.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn V. May of St. Albans, W. Va., Mrs. Frances M. Peters of Riverdale, Md., and Mrs. Betty Campbell, Washington, D. C.; two sons, John RayImond Watson of Chicago, 111. and James William Watson, Fair, mount, W. Va.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 17 from Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. John B. Hodge, pastor, conducted the last rites.
Pallbearers were Ray Cannon, Alpheus Cannon, Edmund Martin, Elmer Jenkinns, Menefee Utz,' Cletus Printz, Thomas Williams and Vernon Jenkins.
