Those who qualified were Mrs. Dorothy C. Davis, mayor, and for Council members r- Mrs. Virginia G. Miller, Mrs. Bertha E. Armel, Mrs. Dorothy B. Hawkins, Mrs. Edna H. Wayland, Mrs. Peontine Carr, and Mrs. Mary H. Lea.
The first meeting of the new council will be Tuesday, September 11, at 8 p.m. at the Court House and all citizens are invited to express their views.
