Seats Contested in County

Just before press time yesterday it was learned that W. F. Moffett, jr. has filed to run for office of Commonwealth’s Attorney for Rappahannock County. Mr. Moffett will run against incumbent George H. Davis, jr. Other sears contested are for the Board of Supervisors in Piedmont and Jackson Districts. In Piedmont,Paul Frank Brown isrunning against incumbent E. M. Estes and in Jackson John A. Tapp is contesting with L.H. Luttrell who was appointed to fill an unexpired term.

Accident Reported

Roger Allen Welch of Flint Hill was ptruck by John Allen Atkins of Sperryville last Thursday on Route 522 a mile south of Flint Hill. Welch was making a left turn from the highway into a drive way as Atkins attempted to pass. Welch was driving a 1956 Chevrolet pickup owned by his father, Roland Welch. The Atkins car was a 1953 Chevrolet owned by the operator. Damage was estimated at $250 by Trooper W. A. Buntin, investigating officer.
