Calvin S. James
Calvin Spillman James, 85, of Warrenton, died at the District Nursing Home on April 8, 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary L. James; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph. Appleton, and one son, Lawrence James, all of Warrenton.
Funeral services were held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, from Moser’s Funeral Home in Warrenton, with the Rev. L. T. Saunders officiating. Interment was in Amissville Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Rachel Clanagan
Mrs. Rachel Allen Clanagan of Washington, Va., wife of Festus Clanagan, died Wednesday, April 3, 1963 at her residence, following a long illness. Daughter of the late Joseph Barbour and Allen Glllls, his wife, and a native of Rappahannock County, she was 62. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ida Patterson and Mrs. Mildred Summers, both of Washington, Va., and Miss Theresa Clanagan of Alexandria; two sons, Earl Clanagan and Robert Clanagan, both of Washington, Va., and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held ' Saturday, April 6, at the First Baptist Church, Washington, Va., with Interment following in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. U. S. Brokenburr conducted the last rites.
Chester Gap Area
Revival services will continue all this week at the Chester Gap Pentecostal Church at 7:45 each evening conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Pittman of Elkton. Everyone is invited to attend these services. Mr. and Mrs. David A. Williams were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hadley and daughter-at Middletown.
Sherman Williams has returned to his home from the Warren Memorial Hospital and is recuperating satisfactorily'* from a recent operation.
James Bolt of Washington, D.C., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Williams. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Williams last Tuesday and Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Williams and daughter of Front Royal.
Ft-3 Frederick Harris, Jr, of Norfolk spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Buster Mills apd Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harris, sr.
Mrs. Bradley Williams, Mrs. Ermand Morris and sons, Roger and Rommie were Thursday visitors in Warrenton.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brady were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Georgie Williams. Kathy Williams returned home with them for a few days visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Junior Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Mahoney and family of Front Royal were Sunday visitors in the community.
