j At Mrs. Slaughter’s death, I the place was inherited by j her nephew, Perry M. DunI can of Connecticut, who sold it to the Ratliffs. I Meadowbrook Hall was the i setting for many years of the annual Rappahannock Hunt Ball. The massive frame house has a large ballroom and Mrs. Slaughter was an j active participant of the i social activities of the hunt | country. Many times this beautiful estate was opened for Garden Week in Virginia. The boxwood and rose gardens there are wonderful.
