Mr.and Mrs.CIabert Smoot of Washington, Va. announce the engagement of their daughter Shirley Marie, to Roy Franklin Owens, son of Mrs. Anna Owens of Front Royal. Miss Smoot is a graduate of Rappahannock High School and of Universal Air lane Training School in Miami, Fla. Mr. Owens attended Warren County High School and is currently employed by Old Virginia Packing Co. in Front Royal. The wedding will take place April 27 at 2 o'clock in the Washington Baptist Church. The public is invited.
Mrs. Daniel Noce of Laurel Hill Farm included their sonin-law and daughter Col. and Mrs. Phil Melody and children Diana, Susan, Danny, Nancy, Davy and Katie of Barnstable, •JVfilss,*p«triCp Ca ve niti g?Co f;F t' Meade, Md., arrived on Thursday and was joined on Sunday by his parents Col. and Mrs. R. L. Cavenaugh. Mrs. Cavenaugh is a sister of Mrs. Noce.
Members of their family who are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Martin include Mr. and Mrs. Richard McGaggan of Madison, N. J., Garnet Martin, Mrs. Nancy Martin and Bonnie Sue Martin.
Mrs. Raymond Cooke attended the funeral service for her stepmother Mrs. Ethel E. Stover in Remington on Saturday, April 13th. Mrs. Stover is survived by nine children.
Mr. and Mrs. B. James Moss of Estes spent Saturday evening with Mr. Moss’ mother Mrs. Nettie Sutton was in Fairfax on Sunday to visit her grand-daughter Mrs. Leon Compton and infant at Fairfax Hospital. Mrs. Sutton is the mother of Mrs. Gary Bailey.
Mrs. James Johnston is visiting her mother, Mrs. V. W. Coleman in Albany, Georgia.
