Miss Kay Johnston, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Morgan Johnston of Washington, was named “Miss Rappahannock* in a beauty pageant Friday night at Sperryville School. Miss Johnston, 16, is a junior at Rappahannock County High School. In the contest for "Miss Hampton District*, Miss Johnston was also chosen in first place. She will act as Honorary Fire Chief for Washington Volunteer Fire Company in the firemen's parade at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester the* first weekend in May, and will be grand marshall of the Washington Firemen’s carnival parade hereon June 28th. Miss Ginger Russell,daughter of Mrs. Thelma Russell of Flint Hill, was named to second place in the “Miss Rappahannock* contest wnd Miss Dana Snead took third place honors. She is a daughter of Judge and Mrs. R.V. Snead of Washington. In the “Miss Hampton District* contest second place went to Miss Martha Shillingburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Samuel Shillingburg, Washington and third place was gained by Miss Dana Snead. Miss Carolyn Johnston won
