Home Accident Film

The April meeting of the Washington Elementary School P. T. A. was held in the school auditorium, Wednesday April 17 at 7:30 p.m. A small, but Interested group was present. An excellent film, "Danger Is Your Companion* was shown. This film, put out by the American Red Cross, shows the many and varied kinds of accidents which may happen at home, at work,, on the farm and on the roadiand the importance of First Aid Courses to individuals^ in meeting these emer-j gencies. 'f At the conclusion of theT film, Mr. Paul Nichols, who was the special guest speak—" er, answered questions per-*" taining to the film and dis-*" cussed *Pond and Water Safety*. Having worked extensively with the Boy Scout’ and other groups, teaching Boating, Canoeing and A.quat ics, Mr. Nichols is highly^ qualified to explain and de-/ monstrate methods of Mouth. to-Mouth Resuscitation, Arti£ ficial Respiration, First Aid£ and other Safety measures.1*

These questions were answered and fully explained by Mr. Nichols. Plans were made to help the Elementary school teach, ers at the Washington School at the beginning of the school year in September, by collect ing during the summer and on the first day of school, good used books from pupils and selling them, on consignment on the opening day to needy pupils. It was agreed that Room Mothers might be asked from each room to help with the sale of these books. Further discussion on this subject will be made and reported on at the next meeting, which will be, May 15.

After the serving of refreshments by Mrs. John Williams and Mrs. Lucia Kilby, the meeting was adjourned.
