Basket Weaving
The County Arts and Crafts Committee announced that their next scheduled activity will be a class in basket weav ing to be held October 14 at 10 a.m, at Cab Inn in Sperry** ville. This class, as all their other activities, is open to one and all who are interested in learning or helping others to learn this traditional craft. It is most important that the Committee or the Home Agent be notified in advance if you are interested so that materials can be bought at cost by people who participate. It has also been suggested that wild honeysuckle can be used if anyone wants to collect his own material. The Arts and Crafts Committee, a non-profit, non-commercial organization, working closely with Home Demonstra tion Club and the County Home Agent has “carried the ball” in most Qf the activities to date by supplying instructors and printed leaflets. These activities have included schools or workshops in braid ing and hooking rugs, caning chairs and arranging for an Arts and Crafts Show to be staged in October at the Rappahannock Library in Washington.
