Agriculture Conservation

Program Farmers who have completed 1964 ACP practices leed to report them completed :o the ASCS office. If you rereived purchase orders you still need to report the prac:ice completed. Wool and Unshorn Lamb

Program As soon as you complete your sales of wool and unshorn lambs, turn in the sales slips at the office for your Incentive payments. The 1964 program ends Dec. 31, 1964. Emergency Conservation Measures Approved Rappahannock County was approved to receive $2400.00 in funds to help farmers reestablish permanent vegetative cover destroyed or materially damaged by drought. All farmers are eligible to apply for this help. The enrollment period for this program will end August 31,1964

Wheat end Feed Grain

Payments

Farmers participating in the 1964 Wheat and Feed Grain Programs are asked to come in and sign for their payments Final payments cannot be mailed until the farmer signs certifying he has complied with program provisions.

Haying and Grazing

Diverted Acres Rappahannock County has been approved for Federal Drought Relief, haying- and grazing of Conservation Reserve, Wheat and Feed Grain diverted acres. Before haying or grazing this land a farmer must file a request and be approved by the county committee. There will be a reduction in payments for the use of this land.

1965 Wheat Program

The 1965 wheat program will not be automatic. Producers wishing to qualify for any oi the program's benefits will need to file an application at the ASCS office between Aug. 24th and Oct. 2, 1964. The 1965s voluntary wheat program includes diversion payments, price support loans and marketing certificates. It is designed to maintain wheat income, reduce the surplus, and keep program costs down.
