Valley Forge Medal
Miss Dorothy Hunter Wood, a faculty member of MacArthur Elementary School in Las Cruces, N. M., was one of 278 American classroom teachers named to receive the Valley Forge Classroom Teachers Medal. This national recognition from Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pa. was a result of their exceptional service in furthering the cause of responsible citizenship, patriotism and a greater understanding and appreciation of the American Way of Life. Selection was made by members of a distinguished independent Awards Jury composed of state supreme court justices and the national heads of patriotic, veterans and service club organizations.
