Albemarle Man Robbed, Left on Road
An Albemarle County man was robbed of $22 and left on the roadside near Peola Mills Monday evening. According to authorities, Eugene Edward Jones of Keene, Va. bargained with two boys to take him from his home to Washington, Va. When the trio got as far as Peola Mills the boys took $22 from Jones and pushed him from the auto. Identity of the boys has not been disclosed and the case is under investigation by Trooper J. B. Willis here, and Trooper J. K. Brightwell in Albemarle.
Corner Store Under
New Management
Sperryville Corner Store will open today under the management of Wilson J. Burke of Sperryville and Randolph Clater, Washington. Both of these young men have worked in this store for a number of years while Mr. and Mrs. James Falls of Woodville were the proprietors. James Leake of Sperryville will continue to be employed at the Corner Store as a clerk. A Grand Opening will be held today with free refreshments for all and balloons for the children. A door prize, a $10 order of groceries, will be given away Saturday night. The new proprietors invite everyone to come in and register.
Mr. and Mrs. Falls operated the Corner Store for 10 years. Mr. Falls will continue to operate his lime and fertilizer spreader service and Mrs. Falls says she is going to take a much needed vacation at home.
