The Alcoholic Beverage Cor trol Board in Richmond has vetoed the establishment o; an ABC package store in the I Lea building in the Town o | Washington. TheRappahannock County Board of Supervisors had, at its September meeting, voted for the locatior of a store in the Lea building and sent a resolution tc the ABC Board to that effect In a letter received recently from Richmond the ABC Boarc stated. “Upon making a survey of the Town of Washingtot regarding the possibility o: establishing an ABC Store, w< have found a Methodist Churcl located directly across the street from the Lea building The policy of the Board is tc refrain from locating an ABC store in such close proximitj to a church if there is an expression of opposition by the church." The letter went on to saj that the Board does not fee it appropriate to locate a store in the Town of Washington ii the Lea building, and that i another location is available and deemed suitable for ; store the Board would consider the issue further.
