Our secondary roads are vital to our farms and agriculture. And yet - - - The current administration changed the law so that the highway department is no longer required to spend a certain percent of highway money on secondary roads. I believe part of every highway dollar should be spent on our country roads.
Over 42,000 people were killed and injured on Virginia highways in 1966 . . . and yet two important bills, one requiring rear vision side mirrors . . . and the other calling for reflecorized license plates . . . died in the Senate for lack of action. Let's do something about safety . . . not just collect statistics.
