With this issue the Rappahannock News begins its 19th year of publication. The business was established in 1949 in a building located where tffc Trinity Episcopal Church parking lot is now and moved to the present location a year later. Founders of the News were Miss Lucy Catherine Bowie and brother, Bruce Bowie, pictured above at the original location with Jack Barber, an employee. In the years following the business changed hands twice before being purchased in 1962 by the present owners. Green Publishers, Inc. Miss Bowie and Mr. Barber both are employees of Green Publishers located in Orange and both still have a part in the production of the Rappahannock News which is printed at the Orange plant.
