Dec. 5 Is Deadline

For Paying Taxes

Tuesday, December 5, 1967 is the deadline for paying personal property and real estate taxes in Rappahannock County in order to avoid a 5% penalty which goes into effect the following day. Taxesarepayable to Robert L. Brown, Treasurer at his office in Washington, Va. or may be mailed to that office. If mailed, all letters must bear a postmark not later than midnight December 5 to avoid the penalty.

Annual Co-op Day

The Culpeper Farmers’ Cooperative. inc. will hold its annual Co-Op Day on Saturday. December 9. according to a statement today by General Manager James K. Cornett, Jr. It is on this date that 1953 patronage refund certificates held by patrons of the cc operative will be redeemed. Mr. Cornett stated that certificates issued for 1953 total $36,000. Patrons of the cooperative who purchased from the Remington, Sperryville and Culpeper stores can receive the refunds in cash from the store from which the purchases were made. Co-Op Day promises to be a big event for patrons of the Culpeper Farm ers’ Cooperative and its stores. The certificates will be redeemed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
