Miss Lucy Estes of Washington has been cited for fifty years service as a registered nurse. The citation, a pin and letter of commendation, came from the Alumni Association of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. It said in part, “this is a token of appreciation for your many years of untiring service in the healing arts.”
Miss Estes entered training at the Virginia Hospital in Richmond which at that time was a charitable institution. This was later added to and became the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. She was graduated in 1920.
