Bronze stenciling continues as the project of the Rappahannock Arts & Crafts Group for the meeting scheduled to be held Tuesday, June 8 at Cab Inn. Mrs. Frances Grimsley of Culpeper is the instructor for the meeting which begins at 10 a m.
Amissville Homemakers
Meet Monday, June 7
The Amissville Homemakers Club will meet Monday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. At that time Mrs. Helen Claypool of Winchester, a specialist with Potomac Edison, will give a demonstration on home lighting. At the last meeting of this group, Mrs. Winston Sommerville of Winston gave a demonstration of candlemaking. The Amissville Club will work with other clubs in the county to prepare and serve refreshments to these attending baccalaureate service Sunday evening at the high school.
Slow-Pitch Ball
League Standings
The action in the Tri-County Slow Pitch softball league shows Amissville leading the league after the second week of play. Viewtown, however, has made it clear that Amissville will not run away and hide. Village will have to be reckoned with while Charted and Penncarva will win enough to make the race last the entire season.
In last week’s action, Amissville scored 32 runs beating LanePenncarva 17-2 and Village 15-7. The team is playing good ball.
Viewtown came back from defeat last week to win 2 games by the scores of 12-4 and 17-4 over Village and Charted Industries, respectively. The wins moved Viewtown to within one game of league leading Amissville. Village, by winning 17-6 over I Penncarva, kept from having “a lost week,” or was it weekend? Charted claimed the only other I victory during the week as Penn! carva went down to a third defeat, j 13-6. ! Standings:
