A recent issue of the Virginian reprinted the reasons given by Prince William County on their view of the need for building the Salem Church Dam on the Rappahannock River at Fredericksburg for Prince William County’s water supply.
This n&ed was expressed by the County Engineers, Wiley & Wilson. Like all Engineers they are looking for a big project to keep busy on. One of their representatives has been at nearly every Congressional hearing on the Salem Church dam in the last two years to explain why Fauquier and Culpeper and other counties on the Rappahannock should be flooded out for the benefit of Prince William County, which wants the flooding to be in somebody else’s land.
