It should also be noted that Bull Run runs along the boundry of Prince William County for a distance of 25 miles above Occoquan Lake, and the lake borders the County for a distance of 12 miles. Bull Run is only 2-1/2 miles from Manassas. In the vicinity of Manassas is a lake site where no road crosses or even touches Bull Run for a distance of six miles.

Broad Run above Route 28 and on up to the new reservoir is a distance of four miles with a* lake site that is uninhabited. The Soil Conservation Corps maps show a total of over 50 storage lakes in the County, and considers Broad Run and Bull Run below Route 29-211 as too large a stream for their undertaking.

The Engineers also state that Prince William needs the Rappahannock dam for recreation although the Rappahannock dam they propose would be only twelve (12) miles from the Potomac River.
