A.W. Hawkins
A funeral service for Andrew Warren Hawkins was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gordon George and the Rev. Harold Eaton. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Hawkins, 58, of Culpeper died Thursday, May 11 at Manassas Manor Nursing Home, following a long illness. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Charlie Hawkins and Frances Woodard Hawkins. He was a foreman for the Virginia Department of Highways and was a member of Novum Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delsie McFarland Hawkins; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Mills of Charlottesville and Mrs. Kyle Baber of Culpeper; three sons, George William Hawkins of Culpeper, James Warren Hawkins of Manassas, and Larry Douglas Hawkins of Rixeyville; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Maury C. Hawkins of Culpeper, Kemper Hawkins of Baltimore, Md., Burham Hawkins of Brightwood, George Hawkins of Sperryville, and Rufus Hawkins of Staunton.
Pallbearers were Billy Mills, Kyle Baber, Milton Hawkins, Ray Grady, W. B. Nichols, Cleveland Corbin, Clyde Courtney and Russell Campbell. □
