Five members of the Gladiator’s softball team in Front Royal have been rewarded for their interest, dedication and determination in the sport. They have received the “Presidential Sports Award’’ in softball issued by President Richard M. Nixon. Receiving the awards were, front, Danny Figgins, Fent Pearson and Ronnie Williams; all of Front Royal: standing, Abraham Burke of Washington and his brother Eddie Burke, Front Royal. In two years this team has a record of 49 wins and 8 losses.
