THE Accounting and Tax students of Lord Fairfax Community College will give free federal income tax assistance to persons needing it in filing the new 1040-A short form. Assistance will also be available to those who file the long form and whose income consists of wages, salaries, dividends, and interest..
This program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, is held in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service and utilizes the students and facilities of Lord Fairfax Community College. The Lord Fairfax Location is only one of many programs located throughout the State.
Professor Gary Tusing, coordinator of the program, said this free income tax assistance will be available at Lord Fairfax College in Room 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on thd following Saturdays:
January 27, February 3 and 10, March 31, and April 7 and 14. Professor Tusing and approximately five students will be available each of these days.
