And we haven’t even touched upon the horse industry, which, it has been suggested, may be one of the area’s most valuable “rural,” if not strictly agricultural (under the taxmen’s system of definitions) activities.
ALL OF this is bulldozed under and subdivided at grave peril, to a pleasant way of life, a strong and thriving economyeven at a time when surrounding, “de-agriculturized” areas have been suffering gravely from unemployment and recession—and some of the most breath takingly beautiful countryside to be found anywhere on the face of the earth.
