Trout season
More than 500,000 trout will have been stocked in Virginia waters prior to the opening of trout season at noon on April 5, according to Jack M. Hoffman, Chief of the Game Commission’s Fish Division. Stocking operations have been conducted on approximately 225 streams in 40 western counties in preparation for the opening.
“The past mild winter, during which we experienced only minor difficulties with snow and ice, has allowed our pre-season stocking operations to be conducted right on schedule, and things look bright for a good opening and a great season,” Hoffman said.D
