THE GIRLS track team had its first meet April 1 against Stonewall Jackson ofMt. Jackson. Coach Ann Speiker’s team lost by only two points, 65-1/2 to 63-1/2. They managed to break six school records on this first outing, which bodes well for the future.

Considering that the track teams do not have a track to train on, the results are outstanding.

Katie Pendleton had a great day, setting school records in the long jump, the 100 yard dash, and running on the 880 yard relay.

Results were as follows:

Shotput, Margaret Jett, 34’8”, first.

Discus, Margaret Jett, 80r3”, first; Mary Jordan, 75’3”, third.
