NOTICE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors is soliciting proposals from parties interested in operating a private land fill in Rappahannock County. All proposals should include but not be limited to consideration of the following standards for operation: Map of the proposed fill area with indications of fill areas, any borrow areas, preparation of site, access' roads, drainage, fencing, existing and proposed utilities, and any other pertinent information to clearly indicate the orderly development, operation, and completion of the sanitary landfill. Geological characteristics - type and depth of soil suitable for cover material - drainage characteristics regarding stream and underground pollution of wells. Characteristics of cover material - sandy loam, shale, etc. Equipment available to operate land fill according to acceptable engineering practice. Opinion from the Public Health Official concerning problems and solutions to potential health and pollution problems. Plan of operation concerning “unloading of refuse, blowing paper, spreading and compacting of refuse, depths of lifts in fill, daily cover and final cover. Costs to the County for proposed land fill operation - broken out on a yearly basis. Disposal of hazardous material. Special provisions for disposal of large, heavy and bulky items, including tires. . . . Control of burning - no garbage or refuse containing garbage shall be burned at the land fill site. J How will salvage be organized? No scavenging will be allowed at the land fill. Domestic animals should be excluded from the site. Routine inspections will be made by the Public Health Department and County Engineer. . . . All proposals should be uiailed to: Mr. F.M.
