Brooks
Emogene Starks Brooks, 41, of Washington, D.C. died December 29, 1975 in Howard University Hospital. She was born in Rappahannock County November 18, 1935, the daughter of James L. Togans of Washington and the late Bessie Jones Togans.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Henry L. Brooks; two sons, Henry L., Jr. and Sylvester D. Brooks; two daughters, Gloria Jean Jones and Patricia Brooks, both of Washington, D.C.; and one grandchild.
A funeral conducted "by the Rev. Carter Alsberry was held Saturday at the Turner Funeral Home, Front Royal. Interment was in the cemetery at Amissville.D
Hunter fined
An Elkton man was apprehended by Park Rangers in Shenandoah National Park and charged with hunting and possession of firearms. Garland G. Hensley, Route 1, Box 409, Elkton, appeared before U.S. Magistrate I. Randolph Dovel on December 12 and was found guilty of possessing firearms in the Park. Hensley was fined $200 and his weapons were held pending further decision by the U.S. Magistrate. □
