The frame house occupied by the Harold Pettie family near Amiss* ville was destroyed by fire Christmas Day. The efforts of area fire companies could not quell the blaze, which was far advanced by the time help could be summoned.
The Petties lost all of their belongings in the fire—clothing, furniture, everything. The family is composed of Mr. and Mrs. Pettie and seven children, ranging in ages from 2 to 17.□
