A number of areu riders earned top honors at lost week’s U.S. Pony Club Championships held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington.
The Virginia Region sent 50 members to compete in quiz, eventing, show jumping, dressage and games.
Members represented the Blue Ridge Hunt Pbny Club, Casanova-Warrenton, Deep Rim, Difficult Run, Dominion Valley, Loudoun Hunt, Middleburg Orange County, North Mountain, Old Dominion Hounds, River Bend and Headquarters Place.
A team from the Loudoun Hunt club won the quadrille dressage team silver. On the team were Adriane Aivord. Hay ley Galloway, Cara Goode and Celia Lee. Stable manager was Rachel Fanta of Casanova-Warrenton.
Flint Hill’s Christine Pankow, a C-2 rated member of the Old Dominion Hounds Pony Club, helped her team earn the bronze medal in training level dressage freestyle. Pankow rode on a “scramble” team made up of riders from New Hampshire, Kentucky and Ohio.
