Seeking to 'ignite creativity ami build community Spark! v formerly known as KL Theatre1 win showcase at an “Arte' Fest* on Aug- IS the work of Rappahannock children who participated in its throe summer workshops on photography drama and culinary arte.
During the event, a play entitled “Sherlock Holmes— A Short Victorian Melodrama" will debut at Ri Theatre on Gay Street at 4 p.m. An exhibition of the photographic skills of the youngsters will immediately follow at the Fucking Shed Gallery a short walk down the street. A reception will feature culinary treats made by students in a workshop.
Partnering with a number of local community organisations. including the Headwaters Foundation. Spark! has attracted major corporate sponsors such as National Geographic magazine. Circuit City and Target to hold a series of summer workshops for Rappahannock students in grades 5-12.
