School bourd members were shocked at the estimated coat of replacing the elementary school roof - $130,000. School Superintendent Richard Eatabrook said he met with a Richmond roofing firm that said the project could be spread over four years and the first year cost would be $30,000. Eatabrook said that is the amount that would be left in the budget after work is completed on a bus stop.
School Superintendent Robert Eatabrook called for parents to become more involved in their children’s schools after a national report said students were not as well prepared as their parents. “What above all do you want your children to become proficient in,” he asked the audience. “They're your children and they’re your schools. They’re not my schools. They’re our schools!”
