It's all about teamwork.
According to Ffelecia Chavez, a regional coalition called the Voluntary Orgunizat ions Active in Disaster (VOAD) is staking new members in Rappahannock and nearby counties.
The coalition will work to supplement emergency responses to catastrophic events such as floods or tornadoes.
“We would meet with emergency managers (from the affected communities) and they would let us know what nin'ds to be done." said Chavez, an outreach coordinator with the American Red Cioss who is also president of VOAD.
