Ruth Purnell, 25, of Washington spent much of her childhood living overseas because her father worked as a diplomat for the U.S. Foreign Service. However when the family was stationed in the U.S., their home was always Rappahannock County. Of all the places Purnell has visited she still finds Rappahannock to be one of the most beautiful, she said.
