The campaign opened the last o£ April and at the end of the first month Detroit was in the lead, with BolUui a good second. My team didn't yet beyond fifth place until June. At the close of that month we had stepped up one place, Detroit, Boston and New York still in advance. Our boys were playing a mighty good gar.i at that time and our chances for i'::e championship were not so very siim.
