In one of our rural sections, a <3river was transporting an old gentleman and a small dog in the back seat .of his car. Along the way he. encountered a largo snapping turtle which was crossing the road so ho captured it for eoap and stowed it in the back seat. The old gentleman and the dog didn’t like this arrangement. Neither did the turtle and a wild melee ensued. The driver, reaching back to. separate the contestants, . was 1 painfully bitten in the hand, lost control of the car, and endedv against a stump. Fortunately, no. -one was hurt and property damage was slight We forgot to say the turtle did t^e biting.
