West now calls to many minds a land of oil-field riches, but the old West before the days of the derrick, is perpetuated in the paintings of W. R. Leigh, America's much loved painter of “Westerns.” Cowboys, horses and Indians are vividly depicted by Leigh in action which* this artist, a descendant of Pocahontas who has spent much of his life in faraway places, knows like “nobody’s business.”
