After due consideration and the decision had to, be made because of the state welfare office, the members could not afford to allow this amount to be lost by the county. Mr. Cook moved that it be increased, which was seconded by Mr. Buckner All members voted to allow the $334.70 to be matched by $4,300. Dr. W R. Johnson appeared before the Board to ask an increase of 10% for the Health Budget. He gave a most convincing report of the value of their work with concrete examples. The same old story, “Where is the money coming from ” The board decided to take this matter under consideration and if finances were available they would allow the increase. Dr. Johnson atated that Mrs. Ifilton Gore, secretary of the Health Department for the county, had to be on duty during the day. However, having some spare tme which could be given to any other county official, and if the county would install an extension telephone for her to use, she would help other offices, could secure her services. P. D. Coldiron, state engineer, appeared before the board and stated the conditions of certain routes. It was moved by Mr. Cook and seconded by Mr. Latham to transfer $300 from the road budget of route 622 to route 729 for the purpose of constructing a bridge span. It was decided to construct shelves in the Judge’s office. Mr. Ingersol appeared before the board and was allowed $20.40 for a lamb killed by dogs. The budget committee was decided*' upon. Members for said county budget are J. M. Settle, Mrs. Roberta K. Massie, Robert L. Brown, W. F. Moffett Jr., and W. C. Campbell.
