Judge B. V. Snead Presides

At July Circuit Court Session

Judge Rayner V. Snead presided over the regular term of Circuit Court on Monday, July 13.

The docket included:

Case of Mrs. Beatrice Bonus, plaintiff, vs. Robert J. Gainer, defendant, on a notice of Motion for Judgment: case continued to next term of Court.

Commonwealth vs. Major Melvin Johnson, on a warrant charging a felony. Lacking counsel, the Court appointed John W. Price, Jr., attorney, and continued hearing to a later date with the accused remanded to jail.

Cases of the Commonwealth vs. ' Kinsey Atkins and Mrs. Kinsey Atkins, charged with felonies; waived jury and were found guilty by the Court and referred to Parole and Probation Officer. The case was continued to Monday, when Court will sentence following Parole Officer’s report.

Cases of Arthur F and Elizabeth Haelig, plaintiffs, vs. L. V. Merrill, defendant, on a notice of Motion for Judgment; case set for trial November 12.

V.F.W. TO MEET MONDAY

The Rappahannock Post 1150 of the VFW will meet Monday, July 20 at 8 o’clock in the VFW hall at Sperryville.
