Apparent Apathy
On Friday evening, July 10, eight townspeople and six officials, interested in the welfare of the community, met in the fire house to discuss current traffic problems. These citizens, said to be a small handful among the numerous persons who had. previously voiced the need for improvement, offered the following suggestions:
1. To form a bicycle club for the teenagers in order to teach them traffic rules and road courtesy; and 2. That the citizen be incited to accept their responsibility for apprehending the offenders. The officials reminded the citizens that any of them could take legal action against law breakers provided they have adequate information and are willing to present this information personally.
To practice what you preach is easy — suppose some people tried to preach publicly what they practice.
